The Trailmark ADV app has no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking SDK. Your waypoints, tracks, trips, photos, and settings are stored only on your device. We receive none of it.
Everything you create — waypoints, recorded tracks, planned routes, trips, photos, and preferences — is stored locally on your device. It leaves your device only when you explicitly export or share it, and then it goes only where you send it.
The app uses your device's GPS to show your position, record tracks, and create waypoints. Location data is processed and stored on the device. The current app has no channel that sends it to us.
To draw maps and provide optional features, the app talks directly to public services: map tiles from USGS, USFS, BLM, and AWS Terrain; Apple Maps for place search; the U.S. National Weather Service for forecasts; and USGS for elevation. Route planning and snap-to-trail run entirely on your device from the routing packs you download, so they make no network requests. These requests carry only the coordinates needed to answer them (for example, the area of map you're viewing) and are governed by those services' own policies. No identifiers, accounts, or advertising IDs are attached — the app has none.
Downloading a state's map tiles or routing pack is a request to our hosting provider, the same as downloading a file from any website: it sees standard request details — the file, your IP address, a timestamp, and basic app identification — and uses them to serve the file and keep the service running.
Nothing. There is no sign-up, no email list, no crash reporter, and no analytics SDK.
This marketing site (trailmarkadv.com) is separate from the app. It uses privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to count anonymous, aggregate visits — so we can tell the site is up and see roughly how people find it. It sets no cookies, builds no profiles, and collects no personal data and no cross-site tracking identifiers. The app itself still collects nothing.
Trailmark ADV does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
This policy describes Trailmark ADV as it works today: on-device, with no account required. If a future version adds an optional service — like account-based sync, for riders who want it — that would be something you choose to turn on, not a change to the app you already have, and this page will be updated to describe it.
